Automate data classification by integrating MineOS with Zendesk

How It Works

MineOS connects to your Zendesk account and scans records of the following types: users, tickets, organizations and custom object types. All properties and content are classified, and MineOS reports all the data types it finds.

Note: This article covers data classification. Setting up Zendesk for privacy requests is covered in the Zendesk DSR integration article.

Before You Start

  • Make sure you have a Zendesk user to connect with.
  • [Optional] Enable Preview mode to view sample PII values alongside classification results. You must enable Preview mode before running the scan.

Setting Up

  1. Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory → Data Sources. Click Add Data Source, search for Zendesk and click Add.
  2. Open the Zendesk data source → Integrations tab → Request Handling section → select Integration.
  3. Enter your Zendesk domain without https://, for example your-company.zendesk.com.
  4. Click Connect and, in Zendesk, click Allow to grant MineOS the requested permissions. A success message appears once the connection is made.
  5. Mark the Scan this source using Data Classifier checkbox and click Save.

You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Zendesk account.
