Segment DSR integration

This integration automates privacy requests for Segment. MineOS connects to your Segment workspace with an access token, then handles the requester's data in Segment. Preview and get a copy are available with the Personas integration type.

How It Works

• Preview: with Segment (Personas), you can preview the requester's Personas profile data before deleting or copying it.
• Delete: MineOS submits a deletion request to Segment for the requester's user ID. Segment deletes the user's data and suppresses the user going forward.
• Get a copy: with Segment (Personas), MineOS sends the requester a copy of their Personas data, including events, traits and external IDs.

Choose the right integration type

Before You Start

• Make sure you can create access tokens in your Segment workspace. The token must be created with the Workspace Owner role.
• For Segment (Personas), you also need access to Personas → Settings → API Access in Segment.
• Know your Segment workspace region (US or EU).

Setting Up

Step 1: Create a workspace access token in Segment

1. In Segment, click Settings in the left menu, then Workspace Settings.
2. Open Access Management, select Tokens and click Create Token.
3. Select Public API and click Next.
4. Enter a description, select Workspace Owner and click Create.
5. Copy the token.

Step 2 (Personas only): Get your Personas credentials

1. In Segment, select Personas in the left menu, then Settings.
2. Click API Access and copy the Space ID.
3. On the same page, click Generate, enter a description and click Generate token.
4. Copy the generated Personas access token.

Step 3: Connect in MineOS

1. Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory → Data Sources. Click Add Data Source, search for Segment and click Add.
2. Open the Segment data source → Integrations tab → Request Handling section → select Integration.
3. In the Integration type dropdown, choose Segment (User ID) or Segment (Personas).
4. Paste the workspace token into Workspace owner Access Token for Regulations.
5. Enter your workspace region in Regional Workspace (US / EU). If you leave it empty, US is used.
6. For Segment (Personas), also enter your Space Id and your Personas Api Access Token.
7. Click Test your integration, then click Test & Save.

You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Segment workspace.

Using the Integration in Requests

To handle requests automatically, add the Segment integration to the workflows of the privacy rights it should handle: deletion, and also get a copy if you use Segment (Personas).
