Amplitude data classification integration
Automate data classification by integrating MineOS with Amplitude.
Automate data classification by integrating MineOS with Amplitude
How It Works
MineOS connects to your Amplitude project with its API key and secret key, scans your event data, and classifies the personal data it finds. The results are added to the data types of the Amplitude data source.
Note: This article covers data classification. Setting up Amplitude for privacy requests is covered in the Amplitude DSR integration article.
Choose the right connection type
Amplitude has three integration types, based on where your Amplitude data resides. They don't share APIs, so choose the one that matches your project:
- Amplitude US Server (Profile API): for US projects that use the Profile API.
- Amplitude US Server: for other US projects.
- Amplitude EU Server: for projects hosted in the EU.
All three support data classification.
Before You Start
- Make sure you have permission to open your Amplitude Project Settings, so you can copy the API key and secret key.
- [Optional] Enable Preview mode to view sample PII values alongside classification results. You must enable Preview mode before running the scan.
Setting Up
-
Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory, then click Add data source, search for Amplitude and add it.
-
Open the Amplitude data source and go to the DSR & integrations tab. If the data source already has an integration, click Add instance.
-
Under Action for fulfilling requests, select Integration. In the Integration Type dropdown, choose the type that matches your project, then click Set up integration.
-
In a new tab, log in to Amplitude and go to Settings → Projects, then select your project.
-
Copy the API Key and Secret Key into the matching fields in the Set up integration wizard.
-
Mark the Scan this source using Data Classifier checkbox.
-
Click Finish.
You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Amplitude project.
