Shopify DSR integration
Automate privacy request handling by integrating MineOS with Shopify.

This integration automates privacy requests for Shopify. MineOS connects to your store with a custom app, finds the customer who made the request, and then deletes, anonymizes or copies their data, depending on the integration type you choose.
To scan Shopify for personal data, see Shopify data classification integration.
How It Works
- Preview: before MineOS acts, you can preview the requester's data found in Shopify.
- Delete: MineOS deletes the customer from Shopify (Shopify delete), or asks Shopify to erase the customer's data (Shopify GDPR endpoint).
- Anonymize: with Shopify anonymize, MineOS anonymizes the customer's personal details in Shopify instead of deleting the customer.
- Get a copy: MineOS sends the requester a copy of their Shopify data.
Choose the right integration type
| Integration type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shopify delete | Deletes the customer. |
| Shopify anonymize | Anonymizes the customer's personal details instead of deleting them. |
| Shopify GDPR endpoint | Sends Shopify an erasure request for the customer. Shopify carries it out asynchronously, so the task stays in progress until Shopify finishes. If the customer ordered in the last 180 days, Shopify holds the erasure until that window has passed. |
All three types preview and copy data in the same way.
Before You Start
- You need to be the store owner.
- When you configure admin API scopes in Step 1 below, add the scopes for your integration type, in addition to the ones listed in that step:

In Shopify, turn on automatic order archiving so completed orders can be processed for deletion or anonymization.
You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Shopify store.
Tip: If the connection fails, check that the API scopes and store URL are correct.
Using the Integration in Requests
To handle requests automatically, add the Shopify integration to the workflows of the privacy rights it should handle, such as deletion or get a copy.
