Quickstart Guide

Get DSR handling live in MineOS — connect your sources, define rights, set up communications, and process your first request.

This guide walks you through the recommended order for setting up DSR handling in MineOS. Working through it end to end means that by the time requests start arriving, MineOS can capture, verify, and process them correctly.

Before you start

Make sure you have admin access to the MineOS portal and that your organization's data sources have been mapped, so MineOS knows where personal data lives before you begin handling requests.

1. Connect your data sources

Start by connecting the systems that hold personal data — SaaS applications, databases, and internal tools. This inventory is what MineOS uses to collect and delete data during a request, so the more complete it is, the more of each request can be handled automatically.

2. Set up your intake channels

Decide how data subjects will reach you and turn on the channels you need. Your options include the Privacy Center, DSR Email Forwarding, a toll-free phone number, adding requests manually, and importing existing requests. See Receiving Requests for the full set.

3. Define your privacy rights

Enable the privacy rights you're required to support, set each right's eligible regions and workflow, choose how it's fulfilled in Setting Up DSR Handling Type, and configure display names and translations. If your team shares work across groups, set up user groups too.

4. Configure communications and templates

Set up the emails data subjects receive across the request lifecycle in Communication Rules & Templates: the email templates, their languages and translations, and a custom sender domain so messages come from your own domain.

5. Turn on notifications

Keep your team informed by configuring notifications — by email, in Slack, or as Jira issues — so no request goes unnoticed.

6. Process your first request

With everything connected, incoming requests appear on The Requests Page. From there you can let Autopilot orchestrate the request automatically, or process it manually. When you're done, close the request and the data subject is notified.

Good to know

You don't have to complete every step before going live — at a minimum, connect your sources, enable your rights, and turn on one intake channel. You can refine templates, notifications, and automation at any time as your program matures.
