Automate data classification by integrating MineOS with Salesforce
How It Works
MineOS connects to your Salesforce account and scans all records of the following types, detecting the personal data in any of their fields:
- Lead
- Contact
- Note
- Order
- Account
To automate privacy requests in Salesforce, including the choice between the Delete and Anonymize integration types, see Salesforce DSR integration. Data classification works the same way with either type.
Before You Start
- Make sure you have access to Salesforce and permission to connect apps to your Salesforce account.
- MineOS requests the following Salesforce permissions:
- Access the identity URL service
- Manage user data via APIs
- Perform requests at any time
- [Optional] Enable Preview mode to view sample PII values alongside classification results. You must enable Preview mode before running the scan.
Setting Up
-
Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory → Data Sources. Click Add Data Source, search for Salesforce and click Add.
-
Open the Salesforce data source → Integrations tab → Request Handling section → select Integration, and choose an integration type.
-
If you're connecting a sandbox account, type
TESTin the sandbox field. For a production account, leave it empty. -
Click Connect and follow the on-screen instructions to grant MineOS the required permissions. A Success message appears once the connection is made.
-
Mark the Scan this source using Data Classifier checkbox and click Save.
You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Salesforce account.
