This integration automates access requests for Google Drive. MineOS searches the files in the drives shared with the integration user for content that mentions the requester's email address, then lets you preview the matches and prepare a copy.

To scan Google Drive for personal data, see Google Drive data classification integration.

How It Works

  • Preview: before MineOS prepares a copy, you can preview the files it found for the requester, including each file's name and link.
  • Get a copy: MineOS collects the matching files so you can send the requester a copy. Copies cover Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings and Jamboard files, and PDFs.

Before You Start

  • You need access to the Google Workspace admin dashboard, with permission to set up third-party apps (Super Admin, Security Admin or a custom admin role).
  • Create an integration user and share all relevant Google groups and drives with it. What you share defines the scope of the search; files outside it can't be found.
  • MineOS asks Google for the drive.readonly and drive.metadata permissions when you connect.
  • If your organization enforces a session timeout for Google Cloud scopes, mark the MineOS app as trusted and exempt trusted apps from session timeout. Otherwise the integration expires and has to be reconnected.

Setting Up

Step 1: Allow the MineOS app in Google Workspace

  1. Log in to the Google Workspace Admin dashboard at admin.google.com.
  2. Click Security → Access and data control → API Controls.
  3. Under App access control, click Manage third-party app access, then Configure new app.
  4. Search for 476692529048-d6el4g4n125gh4ucd2r7voo5k5i2eok6.apps.googleusercontent.com and select MineOS Radar.
  5. Choose the OAuth Client ID and click Select.
  6. Select the organizational units to enable and click Continue. We recommend the entire organization for the widest coverage.
  7. Select Trusted, click Continue, review the settings and click Finish.

For more information, see Google's article on controlling which third-party and internal apps access Google Workspace data.

Step 2: Connect in MineOS

  1. Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory, then click Add data source. Search for Google Drive and add it.
  2. Open the Google Drive data source and go to the DSR & integrations tab. If the data source already has an integration, click Add instance.
  3. Under Action for fulfilling requests, select Integration, then choose Google Drive in the Integration Type dropdown.
  4. Click Set up integration. In the wizard, sign in to Google as the integration user and grant the requested permissions.
  5. Click Finish.

You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Google Drive.

Using the Integration in Requests

To handle requests automatically, add the Google Drive integration to the workflows of the privacy rights it should handle, such as get a copy.
