This integration automates privacy requests for Avalara. MineOS looks up the customer in your Avalara company that matches the requester's email address, then lets you preview it or send the requester a copy.

How It Works

  • Preview: before MineOS copies anything, you can preview the customer it found for the requester, including the customer code, email address and name.
  • Get a copy: MineOS sends the requester a copy of the Avalara customer records found for their email address. If no customer matches, the task is reported as not found.

Choose the right integration type

Integration typeWhat it does
AvalaraConnects to your Avalara company through its API, to preview and copy the requester's customer records. This is the type this article covers.
Avalara - emailSends an automated email request to Avalara instead of connecting through the API.

Before You Start

  • Have your Avalara Account Id, License Key and CompanyId ready:
    • Account Id: on the Avalara home page, select your profile picture in the top right corner. The account ID appears there.
    • License Key: use an existing key, or go to Settings → License and API Keys in Avalara. The key is displayed and also emailed to account administrators.
    • CompanyId: go to Settings → Company Details in the Avalara admin page.

Setting Up

  1. Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory → Data Sources. Click Add Data Source, search for Avalara and click Add.
  2. Open the Avalara data source → Integrations tab → Request Handling section → select Integration, and choose Avalara.
  3. Enter your Account Id, License Key and CompanyId.
  4. Click Test your integration so MineOS can verify the credentials.
  5. Click Test & Save.

You're done! MineOS has been connected to your Avalara account.

Troubleshooting

If the test fails because your Avalara company isn't set up for certificates yet, MineOS starts a certificate request in Avalara for you. Provisioning can take some time on Avalara's side, so wait for it to finish and run Test your integration again.

Using the Integration in Requests

To handle requests automatically, add the Avalara integration to the workflows of the privacy right it should handle, such as get a copy.
