This integration automates privacy requests for SurveyMonkey. Depending on the integration type you choose, MineOS finds the requester's SurveyMonkey contact by email address, or their survey responses by user ID, and lets you preview, delete or copy them.

How It Works

  • Preview: before MineOS deletes or copies anything, you can preview what it found for the requester.
  • Delete: with the email-based type, MineOS deletes the SurveyMonkey contact that matches the requester's email address. With the user ID type, it deletes the survey responses whose custom variables match the requester's user ID. If nothing matches, the task is reported as not found.
  • Get a copy: MineOS sends the requester a copy of the same data it would delete: the contact record, or the matching survey responses.

With the user ID type, MineOS looks for responses in up to the first 100 surveys in your SurveyMonkey account.

Choose the right integration type

Integration typeWhat it does
SurveyMonkeyFinds the requester by email address and handles their SurveyMonkey contact.
SurveyMonkey (User Id)Finds the requester by user ID, matched against the custom variables you use in your surveys to collect it, and handles the matching survey responses.

Before You Start

  • Make sure you have a SurveyMonkey account that can authorize MineOS to connect.
  • The permissions MineOS asks for depend on the type:
    • SurveyMonkey: View Surveys, View Contacts, Create / Modify Contacts.
    • SurveyMonkey (User Id): View Responses, View Responses Details, Create / Modify Responses.
  • For the user ID type, View Responses Details needs a paid SurveyMonkey plan and Create / Modify Responses needs an Enterprise plan.
  • For the user ID type, have the names of the custom variables your surveys use to collect user IDs.

Setting Up

  1. Log in to MineOS. On the left sidebar, click Inventory → Data Sources. If SurveyMonkey isn't in your list yet, click Add Data Source, search for SurveyMonkey and click Add.
  2. Open the SurveyMonkey data source → Integrations tab → Request Handling section → select Integration.
  3. In the Integration type dropdown, choose the type you need, then follow the matching section below.

SurveyMonkey (email)

  1. Click Connect and follow the on-screen instructions to authorize MineOS in SurveyMonkey.
  2. Click Save.

SurveyMonkey (User Id)

  1. In Custom Variables used for collecting UserId (comma separated), enter the names of your custom variables, for example name, user, userid.
  2. Click Connect and follow the on-screen instructions to authorize MineOS in SurveyMonkey. Enter the variables first, because the connection uses them.

Using the Integration in Requests

To handle requests automatically, add the SurveyMonkey integration to the workflows of the privacy rights it should handle, such as deletion or get a copy.
